Croeso!

Menter Rabar is a community group, based in the
beautiful village of Abersoch, on the south shores
of the Llŷn peninsula, north Wales.

Our history

We were established in February 2023 to renovate the village’s old school into a heritage exhibition, café, community garden, and enterprise centre.

We want to keep this precious building in the heart of the community – where it belongs.

Facilities

Heritage Centre

The centre will facilitate the exchange of cultural knowledge, raise awareness and promote the Welsh language.

Community Café

Open all year round, the café will be the perfect place for socialising and engaging in the community.

Community Space

A fully bilingual space acting as a catalyst to create a strong and vibrant community in Abersoch.

Enterprise Units

We will have five enterprise units to let to local businesses, which will be in specially converted shipping containers.

Community Garden

A vibrant garden that enables the community to contribute to a healthier local environment.

Get involved!

When open, Menter Rabar will offer many opportunities to learn, work, socialise, volunteer and participate. In the meantime, we welcome all offers of support, help with our fundraising events, or any professional skills or advice.

A strong, resilient, and thriving Welsh community

Renowned for its stunning coastal scenery and laid-back atmosphere, Abersoch is a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts, thanks to its sheltered bay.

With its breathtaking views of Cardigan Bay and the Eryri mountains in the distance, Abersoch is a true gem in North Wales.

About our name...

“Rabar” is the Welsh local name for Abersoch, and “Menter” means ‘venture’. and “Menter” means ‘venture’. The local heritage, Welsh language and culture are at the heart of our project.
